The Connection Ambassador Between Steering and Suspension: Smooth Communication

At Huazhe, we call this lower arm ball joint the "connection ambassador" between steering and suspension. Its core task is to stably transmit steering force while allowing multi-directional wheel movement. It ensures precise steering and stable driving. Connecting the steering link and the lower control arm, it acts as a communication bridge between these two systems. An experienced mechanic who has run a repair shop for 20 years once shared: "If a car pulls to one side or the steering wheel shakes, nine times out of ten it's a lower arm ball joint problem. When this joint fails, the steering and suspension lose connection." This taught us that the lower arm ball joint, though small, is the liaison between steering and suspension.

Precision Forging and High-Temperature Quenching: Built for Long-Term Work

This lower arm ball joint is made from high-quality international standard alloy. After strict screening and physical/chemical testing, its tensile strength exceeds 850 MPa. It has excellent impact and fatigue resistance, capable of handling long-term steering forces and road impacts. The production process uses precision forging, which allows the metal to fully flow at high temperature, filling every corner of the mold. The internal structure is dense, with no sand holes or cracks. We require 100% of forged blanks to pass flaw detection. After high-temperature quenching, the component's hardness is enhanced to meet long-term, high-strength demands, with final hardness controlled between HRC 28–32. This ensures strength while maintaining sufficient toughness.

Phosphating Treatment for Rust Prevention: 48-Hour Salt Spray Resistance

The surface undergoes phosphating treatment, effectively isolating air and moisture to prevent rust. The phosphating layer acts as a conversion film, making the metal surface less prone to corrosion. In our salt spray test, it lasts 48 hours without red rust. The ball joint rotates smoothly with no sticking, and play is kept within international standards. This effectively reduces steering slack, ensuring precise wheel steering angles and avoiding issues like vehicle pulling or insensitive steering. This lower arm ball joint has passed fatigue tests of 2.5 million reciprocating motions with clearance change under 0.12 mm, 1,000 impact tests simulating bumps and potholes with no damage, and a 48-hour salt spray test with no red rust.
