At Huazhe, we call this suspension ball joint the "core support" of the suspension system. It is installed at the connection points between the suspension arm, stabilizer bar, and steering link. It is responsible for supporting the vehicle's weight, transmitting steering torque, and cushioning road impacts-all critical roles.
The design concept for this product came from a long-distance driver friend: "If a suspension ball joint fails, the whole car feels like it's 'falling apart'. Everything rattles, everything feels wrong." This taught us that, although small, a suspension ball joint connects the 'bones' of the entire vehicle.
This suspension ball joint is made from high-strength, wear-resistant alloy steel processed with vacuum melting, which ensures high material purity without inclusions or voids. The material exhibits excellent density and mechanical properties, with a tensile strength exceeding 920 MPa. It provides strong compression, fatigue, wear, and corrosion resistance, capable of handling long-term vehicle weight and road impacts.
The manufacturing process combines precision forging and CNC machining, supported by 3D inspection equipment. Precision forging ensures a dense internal structure, while CNC machining guarantees critical dimensions are accurate. Ball size tolerance is controlled within ±0.01 mm, ensuring a perfect fit with the suspension system components.
The surface undergoes hard chrome plating, providing high hardness and strong wear resistance. The hard chrome layer reaches a hardness of HV800, 2–3 times that of regular steel. In wear tests, hard chrome-plated products lasted over 50% longer than standard electrophoretic coatings.
The ball joint features a double-seal structure that effectively blocks dust, moisture, and contaminants, preventing internal wear. In a 100-hour mud and water test, the interior remained completely clean. It stably supports vehicle weight, working with the suspension system to cushion road impacts, reduce body vibration, and improve ride comfort.
This suspension ball joint has passed:
Load test at 3× rated pressure for 24 hours with no damage
3.5 million-cycle fatigue test, equivalent to ~120,000 km, with clearance change under 0.1 mm
Salt spray test with 96 hours of continuous exposure, showing no red rust
